In my work I use lots of plugins. These add functionality, make things look different, and overall speed up your development work. Here’s some of my favorite sites and a few honorable mentions

1. Lightbox Anything

I’ve used this plugin on SO MANY sites. It’s so versatile and customizable and adds a major piece of functionality that Squarespace really should have built in. One of the best features of this is that you can also link external sites into a lightbox, which is great for things like external form sites or any other third party tool that doesn’t directly connect to Squarespace.

2. Blog Sidebar

I’ve used this on a number of sites to add marketing moments to a website’s blog page. It’s also a nice way to add some featured posts and make sure they are seen by everyone.

3. Universal Filter

I lost count how many times I’ve installed this but it brings any collection you have (blog, products, galleries, etc) to the next level by allowing you to filter based on categories, tags and custom headings.

4. Lazy Summaries

This goes hand in hand with the filter plugin. On top of adding a bunch of features it also allows you to make use of their server to cache your content and increase loading time for larger collections. It also lets you bypass the 30 item limit on a summary block.

5. Chrome Extension

As a developer I use this basically all day long. It isn’t cheap and it’s a subscription setup but it has some great features. It comes with some built in plugins as well, including Lazy Summaries, Advanced Map and Tables. This also allows you to move pages between Squarespace websites, copy sections between pages, save yourself a library of presets, and lots of other cool features.

6. Sliding Image Banner

This makes it so easy to mix and match different types of content into a slider for your site. Sliding Image Banner solves the problem if needing different layouts for all of your slides.

7. Split Screen Layout Design Pack

I use this all the time instead of messing with code on image blocks or other elements. Just edit your sections as you normally do and then add your code. Adjust the width of sections, make some sticky, all kinds of fun features!

8. Blog Post Banner Styles

You can see this on the blog post you’re on! By default Squarespace doesn’t have banner images in blog posts anymore. Will gives you a bunch of styles and customizations you can add quickly and easily to your posts.

9. Section Loader Supreme

This plugin makes it so that you can use a single section on any page on your site and it’ll keep it in sync so you don’t need to update it in every single spot. Great for newsletter signups, a specific offer, and anything else you can think of.

10. Mega Menu for Squarespace 7.1

Add a great effect to your navigation while giving you way more freedom to include anything you need in your menus. Things like forms, buttons, image galleries, summary blocks, anything.
